Pacific Coast started in Dec of 1993 in a small storefront in Langford. Created by two partners Maurice Upton and Chris Dougans with the same belief of what makes a company a success. They believe what was needed to be successful is care to peoples needs, and treating people honestly, with respect. Flooring can be an overwhelming decision to make. This has been the trademark of Pacific Coast Floor Coverings for many years. A company built on integrity, service and family values.
With these principals the company has grown to be one of the top floor covering companies on the Island. The partners soon moved the business to it’s own building in the new industrial park on Millstream Road. Today they employ nine staff members from sales to administration and keeping over 11 installation crews as busy as possible. Our major distributors support all our products, most manufactured in Canada and North America, with strong inclusive warrantees covered by a personal company service guarantee. We are the first to admit that we have made mistakes but our commitment is to only make them once.

Chris Dougans - Owner / Commercial Sales: Chris is that home grown entrepreneur raised in this community graduated from Belmont. When the opportunity arose to go into business he was quick to recognize the growth potential of this area and his vision to be a part of its success. Chris started in business owning a small Fish & Chip Shop and as the demand of the era was in trades as more population moves into Victoria. Chris partnered in the floor covering industry. Never straying to far from the sales and service end of the business, he set up their shop, homes and families in the area that he grew up in.

Maurice Upton - Owner / Sales: Maurice came to Victoria as a young man, returning to Alberta only to take a wife and bring her to our community to establish a career and a family. Maurice started in flooring as an installer in 1974. Meeting a young salesperson decided to go into business serving this area with integrity and principals that they believe in. Today Maurice still believes in these family values and the importance of honesty and giving people the best he can give. This is a principle he instills in all his staff.

Lacey Webb - Sales: Guiding people through their flooring choices has been Lacey’s career for the past 4 years. She moved to Victoria from up-island in order to expand her cliental. Lacey specializes in residential and commercial new construction as multi-unit projects. “My long list of happy and repeat customers is a testimony to my fine tuned ability and skills. I look forward to having my opportunity to work with you.”

Susan Hall - Sales: For the past four years, Susan has had the privilege of working in an industry she loves with people who are a joy to meet! She came to Victoria from Courtney with experience in floor coverings and colour selection, specialize in custom new homes and renovations. “When you need something original for your special space, come see me! I look forward to assisting you.”

Scott Sanderson - Sales: Scott has been involved in home construction for twenty years. His construction background roles include being a painting foreman, a concrete finisher and home renovation specialist.
Scott has been a floor specialist for seven years and his talents are with colour co-ordination and flooring selection. He enjoys both residential and commercial challenges and has a proven reputation of success with all of his past clients.

Sergio Leone – Sales: Sergio has been working in the construction industry for several years working with trades to owning his own business. Serg has a great understanding of the overwhelming and daunting task when starting a Reno or new construction project. Developing order from chaos has always been a strength with Sergio and he enjoys working through a project with a customer from start to finish. As a graduate from the Pacific Design Academy in Interior Design, this rounds off his experiences to better assist you in your product choices and colour design to make your dreams a reality.

Steve Larocque – Sales: As one of our newest members of the sales team, Steve joined us in 2008 after leaving another flooring store. Although he dedicated most of his career as a bean counter, you can count on Steve to well handle the details when it comes to your flooring needs. “In 2008 as I began my search for another flooring store to work with, my goal was to find a business with an obviously high level of moral, complimented by a visionary, dynamic leadership and followed by a loyal customer base. You know what? I found it.”

Dennis Johnston – Sales: Dennis has over 30 years of experience in the flooring industry. As a youth he completed warehouse duties and deliveries. His formal career began with floor installations in 1979, specializing in custom homes, renovations and commercial space. For 12 years Dennis has enjoyed sales, working with people and their individual flooring needs. He has a natural ability for texture and colour selection. Dennis believes customer satisfaction is number one and looks forward to meeting your flooring requirements.

Jen Somerville - Accounting: Jen is the glue that holds Pacfic Coast Floor Coverings Inc together. Jen runs the office and bookkeeping and keeps things running smoothly.

Trudy Rowlett- Financial Controller: Trudy comes to us with strong experience in working with small business and financial accounts. Her wide knowledge base working with corporate structure to up-start small companies will assist her in this position. Trudy’s behind the scenes skills and ability will be a terrific asset to round out the efficiency and dedication to our customers. Once again her friendly personality and attention to detail can only add the strength and support to our family.

Andy Robillard- Warehouse Manager: Andy is our front line warrior who manages our warehouse. Andy joined the military in 1980 and moved to the east coast where he was based in Halifax. Andy comes from a long line of different employment backgrounds from Marine Engineering to Administrative positions to construction. Having been in the military has brought Andy many skills that today help to maintain a high standard of excellence to which he uses to the benefit of our company.

Justin Kostenchuk - Warehouse : Justin Kostenchuk was born in Calgary and has lived in Victoria since he was 5 years old. Justin has come to us from suburban motors where he gained experience in sales and is expanding his knowledge to include warehousing. Justin enjoys hockey, paintball and fishing. Justin one day hopes to extract all the knowledge possible from all of us here at Pacific Coast Floor Coverings.
